Origin names J. Douglas Parker Director of Operations
Houston—May 30, 2007—Origin Design, one of Houston’s fastest-growing creative agencies, has named J. Douglas Parker Director of Operations.
“We are pleased to bring Doug’s management ability and organization-building skills to Origin,” said Jim Mousner, Origin Principal and Creative Director.
Mousner said that Parker’s experience leading business development and marketing departments for top architecture and engineering firms will improve Origin’s operations and service to clients across the country and globally.
“Doug has been an Origin client over the years, and he has always been a vocal advocate for the importance of high quality, creative communications and design,” Mousner said. “We appreciate the opportunity to have Doug’s perspective on keeping a large and growing organization functioning efficiently while promoting the highest quality creative output.”
“We are also excited about the deep industry knowledge Doug can contribute to Origin’s work for clients in architecture, engineering and construction,” Mousner added.
Most recently, Parker was Associate Principal of PGAL, Houston’s fifth-largest architecture firm, a position he earned after joining as Marketing Director. He directed a team of marketing and business development professionals in nine offices. While he was an Associate Principal with Bailey Architects, Parker guided the firm through renaming and rebranding, working with Origin on the new brand and with Origin’s public relations director, Ann Taylor, at her former agency.
“Joining Origin gives me the opportunity to take what I’ve learned as a marketing and business development professional on the client side, and apply it in the most exciting, vibrant and growing creative agency in the Southwest,” Parker said. “I’ve seen what Origin can do for clients, and I’m pleased to contribute to a great organization that’s changing the way people think about design, branding and communications in Houston.”
Parker is active in a variety of professional and philanthropic organizations. He earned his Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) designation from the Society for Marketing Professional Services, and has served the organization as Houston Chapter President and National Membership Development Chair. He serves on the board of DiverseWorks Artspace and volunteers for the Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA).
A native Houstonian and Eastwood resident, Parker earned bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Communications from Houston Baptist University, where he was awarded Outstanding Student in Communications.
