#tbt We asked Zach Thielen to tell us about a favorite project he's worked on since starting at Origin Design. Here's what he had to say: "My favorite project to be a part of at Origin Design was The Meadows Clubhouse Renovation. This project allowed us, as a design team, to explore many different interior concepts as we focused on the lighting and materiality of the new bar, golf simulator and pro shop spaces. On top of honing our interior design skills, I also enjoyed learning about the relationship between designers and the community. With this being a public project, we had the opportunity to present our design to the people of Asbury, where they shared their hopes for the project. We listened and incorporated their ideas into our design and the resulting project was better because of our collaboration."
#workingontomorrow Pat Ready, Mat Townsley & Brenda Ritt had a great time checking out the progress on the Carpenters and Millwrights Training Center and Union Hall. Thanks to Mike McNeil & Bush Construction for the tour! Learn more about the project here.
#flashbackfriday We asked Eric Helminiak to tell us about a favorite project he's worked on while at Origin Design. Here's what he had to say: "One of my favorite projects to be a part of at Origin Design was Sartell High School in Sartell, MN. The architecture on the project presented a number of opportunities for creativity in the structural design, including the main focal point – two interior bridges across a two-story common space. The project was a great opportunity to engage the entire structural team in roundtable brainstorming sessions for the innovative parts of the building structure and we came up with some great ideas. The design team was organized, the design process was well planned, and the project was a great example of proactive coordination between all of the design disciplines."
Last Friday, our staff attended the Grand Opening of the Bee Branch Pedestrian Tunnels in Dubuque, IA. The project has made such an impact on the Dubuque community—we're so grateful to have been a part of it! Check out more photos & learn more about the project here.
