IIW Receives Awards from Concrete Paving Association

The Concrete Paving Association recently held its 53rd Annual Concrete Paving Workshop in Altoona, Iowa. The Concrete Paving Association and the Iowa DOT presented awards for outstanding PCC pavement projects completed during the past construction season.

Gary Jasper, Construction Services Team Leader at IIW, attended an awards ceremony on February 2 to receive awards for two projects.

Truck Country Sales & Service Facility, Dubuque, Iowa, was recognized as Iowa’s “Best” Parking Lot PCC Paving Project (>15,000 SY). IIW provided civil and structural engineering, and construction services for the project. James Kaune, PE was the Project Engineer, Tim Tranel, PE served as the Project Manager, and Gretchen Bockenhauer was the Inspection Supervisor.

Cherry Valley Drive in Allamakee County was recognized as Iowa’s “Best” PCC Overlay Project. IIW provided on-site inspection and quality control for the project. Ryan Obrecht served as the Construction Services Technician.​

Last week some of our engineers attended the Dubuque Gate & Pump Station Flood Mitigation Project Kick-Off! We're excited to be partnering with the City of Dubuque, Iowa, Portzen Construction and more on this phase of the Bee Branch Watershed Flood Mitigation Project.

The new facility will include a new flood gate, four new 100,000 gallon per minute pumps (double the capacity of the existing facility), new electrical service, and the installation of back-up generators.
