project overview
In collaboration with the Quad City Carpenters and Millwrights Training Center, the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters and Obora & Associates, Origin Design is providing architectural services for the design of a new training center and union hall office building. Once constructed, the facility will serve its 2,000 union members and apprentices in the Quad Cities and State of Illinois.
The project includes a 21,000 sf administrative center and a 64,000 sf training center. The two-story administrative facility includes classrooms, training areas, a cafeteria and offices. The union office building features a 250-seat meeting room to be used for public events.
Set to open in early 2022, the project will be a beacon for East Moline and spur economic development for the Quad Cities area and surrounding communities.
