When we asked Julie to tell us about her favorite part about being an engineer at Origin Design, she said: "One way I find purpose as an engineer is the fun projects I help design and develop, thinking about the trail/roadway user and then going out and using the trail with my granddaughters."

#workingontomorrow The Russell Industrial Park in #Davenport, Iowa, is taking shape with the completion of the first of six buildings on the 95-acre development. As crews continued work on the site, civil engineer Kristin Crawford gave us a tour and explained some of the site updates and amenities. The site design includes numerous infrastructure updates and roadway improvements. The most prominent site features are the three connected ponds near the park entrance that will provide a warm welcome to tenants and visitors.

#tbt When we asked Gertrude Heimerdinger to tell us about her favorite project since starting at Origin, she knew just what one to talk about. Here's what she had to say: "My favorite project so far has been BVM. This senior living facility addition was one of my very first projects here at Origin Design! I was impressed with the large scale, complexity, and the architectural program featuring underground parking, a theater, a large pool and many beautiful senior living units. Our structural team did a fantastic job coordinating with the architect and addressing the structural complexity within the project all while showing me the ropes on drafting construction documents and expanding my knowledge on structural engineering!"

#throwbackthursday Jeri Vondera has been with Origin Design for nearly 10 years. Here's what she had to say about her favorite memory while at Origin: "Many of my favorite memories involve the holiday parties. Two years we had dueling pianos and that was a lot of fun. One year we had a comedian who wasn’t from around here. The party was on the south side of Dubuque in Key West. I guess the comedian heard he was going to Key West and was a little disappointed when he found out it was in Dubuque. At least, that was his running joke all night. Origin Design knows how to throw some great parties!"
